2019-2020 School Year

In 2014, I wrote a blog post The Choir Boys about my visits to the Newark Boys Chorus School, a remarkable 51-year-old institution that absolutely transforms the lives of its students.  In this post, I’d like to describe my recent visit this past December.

NBCS developed a new fundraising initiative, the Salon Series in which guest artists present their work in an intimate setting to a small audience of friends and supporters of the school. 

It was an exciting month at school as students returned from the Winter vacation rested and ready for new opportunities! The Concert Chorus performed at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration at the Scott Flamm Center for Afterschool Development on January 20th in a shared program with the All Stars Project.
